Albany, N.Y. (2/26/2026)LogicalNet, a leading cybersecurity firm, is excited to announce “Cyber Smart: A Leadership Education Series,” in partnership with University at Albany’s Cybersecurity Department. “Cyber Smart” is an ongoing series of educational webinars and videos conducted by top cybersecurity experts to provide business owners and government leaders with the knowledge they need to protect their organizations.

“Cybersecurity is a leadership and risk management imperative, not just a technology concern. Through our partnership with UAlbany, we aim to equip business and government leaders with the insight needed to make informed, strategic cybersecurity decisions. The Cyber Smart Webinar Series is designed to turn awareness into action and strengthen regional cyber resilience so organizations can operate securely and confidently,” said Tush Nikollaj, President and CEO of LogicalNet.

Webinar 1: Cybersecurity Strategy for Entrepreneurs

The first webinar in the series is scheduled for March 27, 2026, at 11:00am. Cybersecurity Strategy for Entrepreneurs,” presented by UAlbany’s Chair of the Cybersecurity Department Dr. C Ariel Pinto, will offer entrepreneurs the guidance they need to protect themselves from hacks and scams. Attendees will learn how to make smarter cybersecurity decisions, turn cybersecurity investments into measurable business value, and find the right balance between strong security and day-to-day operational efficiency.

“At UAlbany’s College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity, we are committed to connecting our cutting-edge cybersecurity research and education with real-world application,” Pinto said. “This new webinar series will equip area businesses and government leaders with practical and actionable knowledge that will strengthen the security of their organizations, along with the broader community.”

Webinar 2: IoT Vulnerabilities

The next installment of Cyber Smart, “IoT Vulnerabilities: With Mass Digitization, Even Your Fridge Can Get Hacked,” on April 30, 2026, will be presented by Dr. Benjamin Yankson, associate professor at UAlbany’s Cybersecurity Department. This webinar will provide practical, easy-to-understand guidance for individuals and organizations on recognizing and managing cybersecurity risks posed by Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

As smart technologies become part of everyday life, from home appliances to workplace systems, hidden vulnerabilities can expose personal data and digital environments to real threats. This session focuses on actionable steps to secure connected devices without sacrificing convenience or productivity.

Webinar 3: Cyber Insurance

Dr. Unal Tatar, associate professor at UAlbany’s Cybersecurity Department, will present the third webinar, “From Risk to Resilience: What Cybersecurity Leaders Should Know About Cyber Insurance” on May 22, 2026. This session will explore the intersection of cybersecurity operations and cyber insurance. It will link technical security practice and the insurance market, breaking down how cyber insurance has evolved, how policies are shaped by emerging threat trends, and how organizations can leverage insurance as part of a broader risk management strategy.

The discussion will provide a clear view of how insurers assess risk, how real incidents affect coverage and claims outcomes, and how security leaders can align their programs with underwriting expectations to reduce loss exposure and, in some cases, premiums. Attendees can expect practical, research-informed takeaways drawn from insurance industry reports and academic studies.

Webinar 4: Cybersecurity Strategy for Established Business Owners

Fourth, LogicalNet’s Chief Information Officer, Mike O’Mara, will present “Cybersecurity Strategy for Established Business Owners,” on June 26, 2026. This webinar will offer the owners of established businesses strategic guidance they can use to set up and upgrade their cybersecurity. It will be geared toward helping business owners leverage their existing resources to improve their security posture.
